Inviting application for the empanelment of Prasar Bharati (PB) Foreign Correspondent

The Prasar Bharati Foreign Correspondents are required whose services will be provided to Door Darshan (DD) Channels, Akashvani and Prasar Bharti News Sharing Portal, as per requirements:
DD India Channel - DD India is the free to air satellite English international news channel of Prasar Bharati. DD India caters to diverse viewers from across the World including the Indian Diaspora. The stories by Correspondents will be telecast in news bulletins and programs on DD India, as well as its digital editions.
DD News Channel - DD News is the Hindi news channel of the public service broadcaster. The Correspondent could also be asked to send stories for telecast on this channel wherever possible, as well as its digital editions.
AKASHVANI - Akashvani is India's national public radio broadcaster. It provides comprehensive and unbiased news coverage in various languages, focusing on national and international events, politics, economy, culture, and social issues, catering to a diverse audience across India and globally, through broadcast and digital edition.
PB Shabd - PB-SHABD (Prasar Bharati -Shared Audio-Visuals for Broadcast and Dissemination), is a news sharing service that provides media organizations, with daily news feeds in video, audio, text: photo and other formats. The stories covered by Prasar Bharati Correspondents and stringers are shared on PB SHABD for use by subscribing media organisations.
Scope of Work:
The scope of work for the empanelled Correspondent will broadly include the following news content to be produced by them from the field as per the requirements of DD India and DD News. The inputs will be filed once approved by the editorial head of the concerned DD Channel.
a. Packaged news reports (PACKAGES) - Minimum 2 minutes per unit Edited, ready to play packages with bytes from the ground. Request can be made by DD News for such reports on different issues. In addition to this, the Correspondent can also provide suggested list of reports that can be covered, subject to approval.
b. Recorded inputs (As LIVE) -Up to 5 min per unit -by Correspondent on important stories from the location, which can be used in bulletins and programmes.
c. Visuals/Shots/Bytes/tic-tac or combination of these - Up to 5 minutes per unit -Visuals/shots/bytes from the ground of an important event.
d. News Story- Up to 5 minutes per unit- Text with Visuals/bytes
e. Live news reports (LIVES) -Up to 10 minutes per unit -in the form of customized live inputs from Correspondent during daily bulletins/programs on the issues of the day from around the globe.
f. Guest interviews/Interviews of important personalities-Minimum 20 minutes- Either live or pre-recorded with global news makers and other guests as per requirements and in accordance with the editorial line of Doordarshan.
ii) These inputs should be available for multiple usage across different bulletins, including digital and social media platforms. These recordings can also be utilised by Prasar Bharati on digital and social media platforms, and any other channel of Doordarshan and Akashvani.
iii) The Director (Assignment) at DD News Headquarters, or any other authorized officer from DD News or DD India channels, will determine which events the Foreign Correspondent is to cover, Classify the coverage category, and assign the coverage to the Correspondent in the respective country.
iv) Besides executing the assigned coverage, the correspondents should make efforts to alert the DD Channels on major news fall or breaking news, or stories of human interest and file the stories in consultation with the concerned officers at the Channels.
v) The content filed by the empanelled Correspondent would be exclusively for PB Network, and such content shall not be shared with or provided to other channels originating within India.
vi) Due to the time-sensitive nature of news coverage, the services of Foreign Correspondents stationed at various locations will be available to DD News round the clock. While they are not required to work specific shifts, they must provide stories and updates as and when needed.
Eligibility Criteria:

Person of Indian Origin (preferable)

Maximum age of 50 years

A degree or diploma in Journalism or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in India or the respective country.

Minimum 5 years of experience in broadcast journalism

Fluency in English-bilingual would be preferred with knowledge of Hindi
-
Proficiency as a cameraperson.
Equipment Requirement:
The Correspondent should be equipped with new-age technology camera equipments required for news gathering purpose like Nikon D7500, Canon EOS R7, Sony Alfa 7 etc. and also MoJo kits with latest smart phones.
Per Assignment Fee:
The empanelled correspondents will be paid fee on 'per assignment basis' for their services in different categories as given in the table below:

In addition to this PB Correspondent will receive a monthly service fee of $1,000. (A cap of maximum $ 20,000 would apply for annual payment per correspondent).
Tenure of the Panel:
The Tenure of the Panel of Correspondents will be for a period of one year, extendable by one more year, based on their annual performance review by the designated officers in DD News.
Contract/Agreement:
Contract will be signed with the selected candidate. The Agreement executed between the selected candidate and the head of the respective Indian Mission shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. In the matter relating to any dispute relating to the agreement the decision of the concerned embassy will be final and binding regarding empanelment and all its related terms and conditions. Nothing contained in this agreement may be read in contravention with, or curtail, the provisions of domestic/local laws.
