40th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, 1–14 February 2027
The 40th edition of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela (Fair) is scheduled to take place from 1 to 14 February 2027 at Surajkund, Faridabad, Haryana, India.
One of India's most prominent international handicrafts fairs, the Surajkund International Crafts Mela brings together artisans, craftspersons, cultural performers and visitors from across the world. The event aims to showcase the rich traditions of handicrafts, handlooms, folk art, culture and cuisine of India and participating countries. It is jointly organized by the Government of Haryana and the concerned Government of India ministries and agencies, including the Ministries of Tourism, Culture, External Affairs and Textiles, as well as the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The 39th edition, held in early 2026, witnessed participation from more than 53 countries and over 700 international artists, highlighting the Mela's importance as a platform for cultural exchange and international cooperation.
The Government of Haryana invites participation in the 40th Surajkund International Crafts Mela from international cultural troupes and artisans interested in showcasing their country's cultural heritage. Cultural troupes comprising approximately 10–15 members and artisan groups of around 4–5 members are encouraged to participate and present their traditional music, dance, handicrafts and artisanal skills.
Subject to prior confirmation and applicable terms and conditions, the Surajkund Mela Authority will provide participating cultural troupes and artisan groups with complimentary boarding and lodging during their stay at the Mela, as well as transportation from Delhi Airport to the Mela grounds.
Swiss cultural organizations, institutions, cultural troupes, artisan groups and individual craftspersons interested in participating are invited to contact the Embassy of India in Berne at cul.berne@mea.gov.in or info.berne@mea.gov.in to obtain further information regarding participation.
