India Independence Day Celebrations at Indian Embassy, Berne

On 15 August 2014, Embassy of India, Berne celebrated 68th Independence Day of India with flag hoisting ceremony at the Chancery followed by a reception. The national flag was hoisted at the Chancery by Ambassador M.K. Lokesh at 0900 hrs. Ambassador also read out the address of Hon\'ble President of India on the occasion. The event was attended by officers, staff and their families. On the occasion of the Independence day, a Reception was held at Yehudi Menuhin Forum Helvetiaplatz 6, Berne which was attended by about 250 guests including resident Ambassadors, Friends of India, officials of the Swiss Government and the members of Indian community. Indian Association of Berne (IAB) and Bharatiya Association, Berne jointly held independence day celebration on August 16, 2014 in Berne. There were cultural programmes performed by Ms. Priscilla Brulhart & Ms. Fanny. Margret, Kathak Dancers and by the children of the Indian community including participation of the children of the Embassy officials on the occasion. Ambassador Lokesh addressed the gathering and presented the tokens of appreciation to the performers.
