Celebration of 10th anniversary of Make in India initiative at the Chancery on 02 October 2024

Embassy of India, Berne celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Make in India initiative at the Chancery on 02 October 2024. Over the past decade, this flagship initiative has played a transformative role in positioning India as a global hub for innovation and manufacturing. Aligned with the Government of India’s vision for an Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) and Viksit Bharat (developed India), the initiative, along with other key government programs, policies, and reforms, continues to drive economic growth, job creation, and enhance global competitiveness. These efforts are focused on building a strong industrial ecosystem and making India a leader in critical manufacturing sectors.

Earlier, during the “Swiss-Indian Innovation Week,” organized by Innovaud on 25 September 2024, Counsellor Anoop Dhingra highlighted several key Government of India initiatives, such as Make in India and Production Linked Incentives (PLI), that are transforming the business landscape. These initiatives have contributed to improved ease of doing business and have attracted significant investment in large-scale manufacturing capabilities in critical sectors.
