National Day Reception at Berne on 16 August 2024

The 78th Independence Day Reception was hosted by Embassy of India, Berne at India House on 16 August 2024. The reception was well attended by over 200 people including Swiss leadership, diplomatic corps in Switzerland and captains of industry as well as eminent members of the Indian diaspora.
Following the National anthems of India, Switzerland and The Principality of Liechtenstein, Ambassador Kumar addressed the gathering, where he highlighted the achievements in bilateral ties of India with Switzerland and The Principality of Liechtenstein including the Free trade agreement, promising deeper engagement in years ahead. The guests present at the 78th Independence Day reception savoured & enjoyed the excellent spread of regional cuisine and sweets from various parts of India. The Joyous celebrations also featured various colorful and vibrant cultural performances like Garba, Bollywood semi-classical, Rajasthani folk & Bhangra by both Swiss & Indian artists, as well as a spellbinding Kathak performance by ICCR empanelled artist & her disciple, enthralling the guest present at the reception.
