Independence Day Reception

The 70th Independence Day of India celebrations were held at the Chancery on 15th August, 2016. The national flag was unfurled by Ms. Smita Purushottam Ambassador of India to Switzerland followed by singing of the National Anthem and reading of the President’s address to the nation.

On this occasion, a dinner Reception was hosted by the Ambassador at the Yehudi Menuhin Forum, Helvetiaplatz 6, Berne. It was attended by around 200 people including Swiss dignitaries, accredited Ambassadors and prominent members of the Indian community.
